Summary of Future Truks:

Trunks is the half Saiyan son of Vegeta and Bulma, who came from 20 years in the future to give Goku a medication for a viral heart disease from which Goku was supposed to die from, about a year and a half after the fight with Freeza. Trunks wanted to save Goku's life, so that Goku can defeat the evil Artificial Humans who had turned Trunks' future world into a world of destruction. Now let's go into Trunks' timeline and go back to around where he was born. Trunks was born about 4 years after the fight with Freeza. Goku had died of the viral heart disease about 2 years before. Right after Trunks was born, the Artificial Humans appeared. The Z Warriors tried to stop them, but they were all killed. Kulilin, Piccolo, Tenshinhan (Tien), and even Vegeta. Only Gohan survived. With Piccolo dead, the Dragonballs once again ceased to exist, and noone could be brought back. As Trunks grew older, Gohan taught Trunks how to fight, so that someday they can defeat the Artificial Humans. As the years went by, more and more people were killed by the Artificial Humans. When Trunks was 13 years old, Gohan was killed by the Artificial Humans. The anger from this caused Trunks to become a Super Saiyan. Even though he became a Super Saiyan, Trunks still wasn't strong enough to defeat the Artificial Humans. When Trunks was 17, Bulma completed the Time Machine, which Trunks used to go back in time 20 years to save Goku and change the future. But as it turned out, Trunks changed what was going to happen in the current timeline, but the future world that he came from stayed the same. So 3 years later, Trunks once again comes back in time to help the Z Warriors battle the Artificial Humans, and to hopefully find a weakness in them. Things takes a turn for the worse with the appearance of Cell, who had also come from the future to absorb #17 and #18 to become "Perfect". To battle Cell, Trunks, along with Vegeta train in the room of Spirit and Time. During the Cell Game, after the death of Goku, Trunks is also killed by Cell. This causes Vegeta to get angry and attack Cell. Later, upon learning about this, Trunks learns that his father really did care about him. After the defeat of Cell at the hands of Gohan, Trunks is brought back to life by the Dragonballs. Thanks to the training that he got, Trunks has now become strong enough to defeat the Artificial Humans in the world that he came from. Trunks goes back to the time that he came from, and destroys the Artificial Humans, and later, Cell. After a long and hard 20 years, peace returns to the future world, thanks to Trunks.
